Summer holidays

Vacations are not as close as I would like because this semester will last forever, I'm sure. We're already in the last day of november and we're still here having classes! Anyway, we are still having february for going out on vacations.

I'm not pretty sure where I'm going out this summer, but I think there are two places that I will visit: a beach called "Iloca" that's near to Curicó (3 hours away), the city where I live. I used to hate Iloca because I thought it was boring, but then, suddenly, I started to love Iloca and its lonely places. You must be wondering why I love Iloca and it's because my dog Pipo can go and swim on the sea, a thing that can't be done in other places like Pichilemu (that i's beautiful but crowded as hell). I don't cold water, but seeing my dog to have fun is just so perfect to me.

Another place that I'm almost sure that I'm going to visit is "Termas del Flaco", a place near to San Fernando, in the middle of mountains where you have not cellphone signal and not even light! Every lodging house has its own motor with petrolium that makes light works from 7 pm to midnight. I like Termas del Flaco because there are hot tubs, a thing that I love with my life, and another strange places that I can visit like a really old hospital that doesn't work and dinosaurs paw prints, you have to climb a mountain for seeing them, it's difficult but not impossible to climb.

The old hospital and Termas del Flaco (what you see in the picture it's all Termas del Flaco)

The person I admire

Oh my god, it's so difficult to choose a person I admire because there are so many cool people.
Anyway I have to pick someone and that's my sister María Jesús.

María Jesús was born on January 5 in 1994, she's 22 years old now. Do you think it's weird because I'm the same age? The reason is that we're twin sisters. She's the older one because she was born 2 minutes before me. It's kind of hard (or at least weird) admiring someone that was born with you and has been all your life with you because I know every single of her defaults so sometimes I get angry with her. We're so different and maybe that's a point of my admiring for her.

I admire her because I think she's a strong woman and has no limit for loving the persons she cares about. While we are in Santiago studying she acts like my mother (in a good way): she cooks for me, remembers me taking my pills when I have a flue and she even takes care my guinea pig called Mozz when I'm at university!

She's also an intelligent person, she studies law and has never reprobated a class. This year she's finishing university and the next year she has to do the practice and the degree examination, so she's nervous about it but I'm sure she will make it cool.

Post graduate studies

Postgraduate studies are not as easy to get as we’d like,  it’s true. Anyway, I want to continue studying after going out of journalism. I would like to take a master in Universidad de Chile about cultural studies. The bad part of taking that master is that too many persons apply for taking it, so it’s not so easy to make it.  The other bad thing about this master is its price: I think I won’t have enough many for paying it. Let’s be honest: studying without a scholarship it’s not an option for me.

I know applying to scholarships and being selected is not a simple thing, so I should be focus on going to seminars and congress related to what I want to study in the future, but I don’t even have enough time for it, so it’s kinda sad and frustrating situation

After taking a degree on cultural studies, I would like to continue studying but in other country: Mexico or a university in Europe would be awesome, but I am not sure I’ll have enough money, so if I don’t have enough money in future, I’d keep studying in Chile something related to literature or social science. Anyway, I hope I can make my plans come true.

My future job

As a journalism student I have to confess I don’t see myself working as a journalist in the future. Not like a television, radio or newspaper journalist. You must be wondering why do I think this and it’s because I think working as journalist takes too many things that I’m not able to do: like interviewing people all the time or, in the worst case, being on a office more than eight hours by day with a boss telling me what to do all the time. I don’t like that kind of work and life!

I’d prefer working on investigations and having a schorlarship to keep studying for the rest of my life, that would be pretty awesome because it doesn’t take you all the day and I like studying. Also, having a schorlarship would let me travel to other countries for getting degrees in other universities and learning different languages.

Another job I would like to work is as a journalist in a magazine, but not the kind you’re thinking about, I would like working as a freelance journalist in a magazine because it gives you the chance of organizing your own time and living in your way, not other’s way.
